This home is truly one of our favorites as well. Why? Because of where it is; how it feels and what you leave with!

Let us explain: Cattleman sits along a mountain side that faces south when drive up the mountain it’s hidden from view until you pull into its circular covered driveway then the excitement begins. When you leave your vehicle you descend down a rock walk way into the expansive kitchen, dinning and great room – instantly you feel this home is different and it is! It feels more like you have entered into a magnificent very rustic cabin high up in the mountains in Lake Tahoe. Once you have entered the home the vista view of the surrounding mountains is awe inspiring and memorizing and this is the first floor. Off the great room is an expansive porch where you can spend your evenings by starting off admiring the amazing sunsets. Then take the spiral staircase down to the second floor where floor to ceiling windows make the view even greater. The 2nd floor with is TV, bar and game area is the perfect hangout for drinks and fun. Follow it’s all natural river rock floor to the other end of the house and you will arrive at what we call the relaxation room -  an all enclosed glass vaulted room featuring a very large hot tub that will without-a-doubt make you forget the world you left behind!

Off the second floor exit the cabin to the outside and enjoy the BBQ area, horseshoe pits and fire pits with cedar bench surrounds. Oh and by the way the cabin sleeps 16 with three bedrooms and two full baths and the master bathroom has an unbelievable shower made of river rock. It also comes with a private pass to the river just down the mountain.

So if the type of family that likes to be above it all the Cattleman’s location up along the ridge of Cats Claw is for you.

If you’re the type of family where vista views, privacy and genuine California-like rustic environment appeals to you then Cattleman should be your choice.

And finally, if you’re the type of family that leaves Cattleman wanting to return year-after-year then this is the place. It provides all that you and your family will need to have memorable vacation. Cattleman – that’s my choice!

There is  a Frio Fun Old Fashion River Trolley stop located at Casa Floerke & River Rd.for rides down to all the river access points and recreation areas.
