Looking for a private, gated river house with acres to roam, yet close to everything Frio? North Star sits quietly back off the road, is private and made for laid back Frio fun! Located on a section of the Frio that maintains constant flow, y’all will get excited just driving through the gated entrance. With over 1,000 linear feet of double-sided riverfront, plus a second river prong for maximum floating fun! Bring all your tubes, towels & water toys because this is the only property that allows guests to bring their personal 4 Wheel ATV. Endless parking for all your trucks, trailers and cars.
Get a daily dose of the Frio by walking outside your back door to float the Frio and soak up the sunshine. The biggest attraction is the new covered entertainment area has plenty of tables & chairs for dining, flat screen TV, bar and built-in fire pit with wide rock seating. There’s also a BBQ smoker, basketball hoop and enclosed outdoor dog pen for your favorite paw friends.
This Texas sized property encourages socializing with your group, yet offers enough space for privacy and relaxation. The front field is large enough for either a game of football or soccer, while volleyball, horseshoes, darts, giant jenga and tetherball are sure to please the kids.
North Star is a 4 bedroom, 3 bath home, with an open concept living room/dining room and a small compact kitchen that has everything you need for family meal times. The master bedroom has a king size bed, upscale furnishings and private bath with shower. Both bedrooms share a hallway bathroom.
There's also a large bunkroom that has (3) additional queen size beds, with another bathroom and (2) separate outside entrances. Guests can stay connected with dedicate Wifi. Super close to float not only the 3rd Crossing, but Happy Hollow and Majors Crossing as well. Excellent location to explore Garner State Park, horseback riding and even the bat caves. June, 2022 - "The property is in a great location, close enough to a general store right down the road as well as Garner state park. We spent most of our time outside enjoying the covetered patio and the bbq pit area. The only downside is that one of the rooms shared a door right next to the outdoor patio area (which we used more frequent than the front entrance), but we were all indoors before anyone got a chance to get comfortable. Overall, I highly recommend this home."
June, 2022 - "Our family of 20 thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. There was something for everyone ages 68-2. Can not wait to go back next summer."
March, 2022 - "The riverfront access is what makes this location fantastic! The house itself has some age to it, but we don't go to the Frio for the houses! They've made a cool outdoor covered patio that we spent our evenings on. And again, the riverfront area was great. We spent most of our time down by the water. If you want the camping feel without having to stay in a tent, then this is a good property for you."
August, 2021 - "Beautiful home, amazing outdoor space and great river access! "
July, 2021 - "I’m a little hesitant to write this review, because I want to keep this place a secret! The house is everything it shows to be on the site. The location was perfect for our group. There weren’t many houses close by so it wasn’t crowded in our area (like it has gotten between Seven Bluffs and Kenneth Arthur crossings). It has the perfect area by the river to hang out and watch the tubers go by, as well as some small rapids for the kids to play in. While we were there, the water was flowing at a good rate (about 50cfps)and this made for a really good float. The first day we put in at Mager’s Crossing and floated to the house. It was not quite 3 hours and we did very little walking (again, the river was up some). The second day we floated from the house to Seven Bluffs. This one was not quite 4 hours with hardly any walking. Perfect for us! The house itself is clean. Some may consider the living room area a little small, but we weren’t ever really in the house other than to shower and sleep so we didn’t mind. If we weren’t at the river, we spent most of our time outside on the patio/outdoor kitchen area. If you have a side by side or golf cart, I recommend bringing it just to make life easier going down and back up from the river. If you don’t have one, don’t let that be a deal breaker, it can be walked. We have stayed at several different houses over the years trying to find the perfect one for our group. I think we may have found THE ONE. "
June, 2021 - "Our stay at North Star was amazing. The house was perfect and the location was great. The river area by the house is beautiful and perfect for hanging out. We definitely will stay there again!!!"
